Friends, sometimes directions can get the best of us. Be it trying to find a destination, build a creative project, or bake a new recipe – directions come in handy because they tell us the best way to perform the tasks ahead to get the desired results we are hoping for. Some directions we may not understand until we get to the middle or end of a project and then we realize why they said to do a certain thing (and if you are like me, sometimes you have to pull it all apart and start over the “right way”). What’s true in the natural is even more true in the spiritual. Every instruction, correction, direction, or command we read in the Bible we may not understand, but one thing we can always understand is, that God knows what He is doing. He knows how to get the end results we desire. Our job today and every day is to just “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6). God knows what He’s doing in your life.
“The works of the LORD are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them,” Psalm 111:2, NKJV
Why such doubt? Why such confusion? Have you studied Him? Have you studied the works of our God?
Open your understanding to the truth of who He is. Open, and expand your knowledge of our Heavenly Father. Seek Him, and search Him out. As the greatest treasure that is to be found, don’t stop digging till you have unearthed His glorious truths.
“His work is honorable and glorious, and His righteousness endures forever,” (Psalm 111:3, NKJV). So, dig deep, my friends, and find Him for yourself.
Look through His holy pages and see Him. See what He has done. See the testimonies of the lives that have walked in those written lines. See the things He performed in them and through them. See what He continues to do even in this day. See, and believe.
For where the truth of this treasure is, it leaves no room for doubt and confusion. Truth eats up the empty spaces that make room for lies.
Therefore, study Him. Let not your appetite be quenched by the false junk and ideologies of this age. Take your fill of God, our Father. Learn of Him. Explore Him, and you will not only be satisfied with that which nourishes for all eternity, but you will enter an abundant adventure of a lifetime today (John 10:10).
It’s there, in those pages of the Bible. Seek Him. He’s not hiding from you. Study Him, and enrich your own life further and deeper than you could have ever imagined.
“He has made His wonderful works to be remembered . . .” Psalm 111:4, NKJV

They say 10,000 steps a day helps to promote a healthier you. How healthier would our inner man be if our daily steps, our daily living, were marked by wisdom’s ways?
“My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦’𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤; 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐮𝐧, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞.” Proverbs 4:10-12, NLT
“But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.” Acts 27:14-15, Read Acts 27
Tempest-tossed and storm-worn. The waves of this world crash about us, around us, and sometimes within us. What do we do?
When we did not heed proper directions, but sailed the course that we thought was right. What do we do?
When considerable time has passed and many days have been spent in the dark, and the helps that we use is no help at all, what do we do?
Our Euroclydon may not be wind-driven, but it is just as opposing and just as fierce as if we were upon that boat drifting at the mercy of the raging waters. We try to redirect. We try to fight our way through, but we can’t seem to catch the way on our own.
In our own power, we run, strike the sail, and even try to lighten the ship. Everything we try is to no avail but then God steps in to send a word.
For Paul, it was through an angel. For us, it can come through a preacher, a friend, a song, or from the authority of His Holy Word itself.
Belief sets in and courage is awakened in the storm.
Soundings are then made – let’s see how deep this goes. Anchors are dropped to hold her steady from the motion of the raging seas. The day comes, and while we may not recognize the place where we are, the morning light shows us the safety of the land ahead.
Raise the anchors and commit to moving ahead! The shoreline is coming close and if we persevere, we will get there.
Don’t give up, dear one. And stop trying to do it on your own or figure it out on your own. We will never see our whole life from the perspective that God sees it, so we must let it drive forward in faith (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Friends, we have all had storms to ride out or weather through, but our God is faithful to His promises. If He declared we will get there, we will get there. Even if tempests, storms, disruptions, and brokenness is the route, we will get there.

“He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:4
Lies swirl in all directions like tornados set on a rampage. Cities, countries, and people are ripped apart due to their devastating results. But it is truth that steps in and says, “Not so.”
Not so, because God’s Word, God’s truth says something more than the destruction seen. Truth declares the truth, and nothing else. What He, the Father, has spoken, is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Lies have been in the enemy’s playbook since the beginning, but truth beckons us to lean into what it says, apply it to our lives, and let it be our shield and guard.
When we open the pages of truth, we see in it something beautiful and fantastic. We see as it was always meant to be. Where lies seemed to have destroyed, truth steps in to reveal more: more love, more right, more restoration.
Lies produce ugly results, whereas truth will introduce peace, joy, love, happiness, and all those other beautiful fruits the Spirit ushers into our lives.
“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth” Colossians 3:2. Set your heart on His unfailing truths that will never falter, or fail, or fade. It will always stand the test of time and the testing of anything we will ever face.
This world, and all the lies it fosters, will all be as nothing. Truth stands read today to take its place in your life so that you can have the best life possible, right now, in Him. Let His truth be your shield today and combat all the lies that are around.

Psalm 25:5 – “Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.”
Psalm 119:160 – “Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.”
John 8:32 – “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 16:13 – “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
Ephesians 6:14 – “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;”
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

Isaiah 14:27 asks the question, “For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?” Furthermore, Psalms 33:11 states, “The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.” When God has a set course marked out for your life, or for anything for that matter, it shall come to pass. It would be futile for any to try to work or speak against His plans.
Our world is inundated with all kinds of ways to get rid of what we don’t like or agree with. Hence, the infamous delete button.
Don’t like what you see? Delete it. Don’t like what you hear? Delete it. Don’t like whatever is before you? Somewhere, somehow there is a way to delete or ignore what it is.
That’s the world we live in. Sadly, the convenience of the delete button has skewered many people’s views about the world, God, and the way things truly are or work.
But let me let you in on a little secret – God’s Word is bond. It cannot be broken. It cannot be altered. And it cannot be annulled.
In the midst of “cancel culture,” this is a good thing. This should be a great encouragement to us because it literally means that not only will every standard of God stand, but it also means every promise of God will also stand. No matter what, it cannot and will not be erased, wiped out, abolished, or made void. God, and His Word, will never be canceled!
While the thoughts of man are vain and futile (Psalm 94:11), God’s Word is a sure foundation to build your life on, to hope and believe for every good and perfect thing He says to you. “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.” – Numbers 11:23
“For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.” – Psalm 119:89-90
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” – Isaiah 55:11
“Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” – Jeremiah 1:12
“For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.” – Ezekiel 12:25
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” – Hebrews 10:23

Trends ebb and flow like the waves of the sea. Fads are cute at times. But it is the classic that I am a fan of; things that endure the test of time. These, if you see them one hundred years from now, are still in style and almost to the point of starting a trend of their own. Because, as we all know, that which is truly a classic will never go out of style.
The classic is not only timeless, but it is beautiful in its reliability to stay what it is regardless of what trend or gimmicks others chase. What is fashionable today may not be in style tomorrow, but that what is classic will always be a masterpiece even after the huff of the trend fades behind the scenes of the newest fad.
That is what I love about the Word of God – it is always classic. It is always reliable, and it never changes regardless of what the world is currently chasing. Be it the latest report, newest discovery or theory – God and His Word are unchanging is what James 1:17 tells us. The Apostle Peter then writes, “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you” (1 Peter 1:25).
Let me tell you why this is so important. There may be times when humanity and history try to rewrite His Word. But, God’s standard, which is His Word, will always be pure and right. The Bible tells us, “The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes” (Psalm 19:8). Which means we have an unchanging foundation upon which to base our hope and belief. We can completely trust in the wholeness and wholesomeness of the Word of God.
If there ever comes a time when you find yourself confused or dismayed by the latest, latest. Remember God’s Word. Purposely take the time to turn to it. There, in those blessed pages, you will not only find that God’s Word is a treasure to behold that we are to desire more than the preciousness of gold (Psalm 19:10), but in its perfect beauty, you can find the wisdom needed to answer whatever you may face on any given day (Psalm 19:7). In that Holy Book, you can also find counsel by which to guide your life (Psalm 119:24, 133; Proverbs 19:21), hope to encourage and inspire you to hang on in there and not to give up (Psalm 130:5), and so much more.
In our lifetime, we will see many things change like fads of the day do. It is just wonderful to know that God, and His Word, will not change. It will always be flawlessly beautiful and perfect. Classic, always.
