Poem – “His Promise”

His promise says I’ll never leave nor forsake you,
Even when the skies are no longer bright blue;
When the clouds and the roaring crash of thunder,
Threaten to overwhelm and drag me under.

 His promise says I’ll be with you until the very end,
When people turn their backs and you can find no friend;
When troubles and trials make you cry at your wit’s end,
When life unravels, leaving a broken heart that needs to mend.

 His promise says that this will work together for my good,
Though the confusion can’t be hardly understood;
When life is filled with “I wish I would,”
Taking me through all the could and should.

 His promise says I lived and died for you,
Giving you everlasting life to help you make it through;
His salvation, sin’s stain erased and undo,
Bring through Him a victorious breakthrough.

 “He who promised is faithful,” Hebrews 10:23

Just a little encouragement – “God is for YOU!”

image (9)

This is what the Lord laid on my heart to tell you today: GOD IS FOR YOU!

Jesus said, “In the world ye shall have tribulation. . .,” John 16:33a. He knew that there would some days where we face trouble and discouragement; there would be times when we feel like we are in this alone. In those times, He wants to reassure us that He is for us. He has never left us. He has never forsaken us. His plans for us is a glorious end so don’t let any circumstance make you believe that God doesn’t have your back, because He does. He’s here and He is for you!

Jesus went on to say, ” . . .but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world,” John 16:33b; and if you are in Him and stay with Him and believe in Him, you will too. Because, God is for you!

Devotion – “Victory Shall Be Mine!”

This not meant to be deep, just encouraging to all who are out there fighting today.  As I was reading in my Bible this morning I came across some very inspiring verses (as usual 🙂 ).  I was reading in the book of Joshua where conquests were being made in the name and in the power of the Lord.  Enemies continually came out to fight against God’s people.  At one point Joshua 11:4 says, “So they went out, they and all their armies with them, as many people as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots,” (NKJV).

By all normal accounts, this should have been the end of God’s people.  According to the standards of man they were outnumbered and out powered.  But, God . . .

God told Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for tomorrow about this time I will deliver all of them slain before Israel,” (Joshua 11:6, NKJV).  Not one shall escape, but all would fall under the power of God working through and for His people.  And, if that wasn’t encouraging enough, as I continued reading I came to Joshua 12:7-24 where it lists 31 kings that fell because God was fighting for His people.

That lets me know that no matter what the odds look like that’s stacked against us, they can never out stack God.  God is a victorious God and we are meant to be victorious people in Him.  We are conquerors; we are people of conquest.  It may seem insurmountable to us, but God has already climbed the highest mountains that we face and He has already won the battles against the greatest armies of enemies that try to come against us.

Don’t let the numbers against you phase you.  “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them,” (2 Kings 6:16).  Since, we have God on our side – we have more than they!  We outnumber the enemy.  Victory shall be ours.

“This is Victory Friday!”

This is victory Friday! We didn’t have to make it this far, but we did. It is by the victories the Lord has won in our lives that we are here today. He has blessed us and anointed us and gave us the power. We are to be a people that are strong and take action (Dan. 11:32)! We are a people created to have dominion (Gen. 1:28)! We are victorious! Claim it for your life today and shout AMEN!

Poetry – “Speak Blessings!”

Whipping about, lashing and hateful

This small member’s language is often fateful

For it strips and works to tear people down

Dropping their countenance to the ground

How often have we participated in the mess

When instead we could have used it to bless

To encourage, to lift, to exalt another

To enrich the lives of our Christian brother

To hold, to love, to show what’s right

Instead we often use it to fight

Wouldn’t it have been just as easy still

To bless according to God’s holy will

To show favor over mocking disdain

And love over inflicting pain

To build and nurture a life within

Instead of participating in this deadly sin

Whose pride causes a boast of self

Instead of nurturing to spiritual health

Speak blessings and help a life to grow

And you’ll reap the rewards from that life you did sow

“Let your speech always be with grace. . .”  Colossians 4:6
