“Little Birdie in the Tree”

My Project 63-001

Little birdie in the tree

How often have you provoked jealousy

You seem so at ease with no cares or stress

To me your life looks free and so at rest

Is it because you have learned the secret

Where humans still strive

To live life as God created you

A life meant to trust and rise

We worry and fret over every little thing

When to the Lord we are commanded, our troubles to bring

He values us more than the bird in the tree

They don’t worry about what tomorrow will be

On the branch confidently they are perched

Be it a maple, an oak, or even a birch

They trust in Him to provide for the day

Are we not much better than they

“Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” (Matthew 6:26).

“I AM FREE TO WORSHIP!”

free to worship

As we enter into His gates on this Sunday morning with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise, we are reminded of the cost that bought our freedom. We praise Him and worship Him! He delivered us, saved us, and brought us through. Shackles are loosed.  Chains are broken and, now we are FREE TO WORSHIP!
Worship is our honor and privilege.  Therefore, we:
“Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.  Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations. FOR GREAT IS THE LORD, AND GREATLY TO BE PRAISED: he also is to be feared above all gods.  For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.  GLORY AND HONOUR ARE IN HIS PRESENCE; strength and gladness are in his place.  Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. GIVE UNTO THE LORD THE GLORY DUE UNTO HIS NAME: bring an offering, and come before him: WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS.  Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be no moved.  Let the heavens be glad, and the let the earth rejoice: and LET MEN SAY AMONG THE NATIONS, THE LORD REIGNETH.” (1 Chronicles 16:23-31).

“THE FIRE HAS NO POWER!”

Flames may be fierce, but God is fiercer! The enemy will try to burn you up, but God can use those flames to promote you if you will just worship Him, believe and trust that He has you in the midst of it all, because when you are on God’s side:

“THE FIRE HAS NO POWER!”

Word For Life Says...

My Project 97-001

My devotional reading this morning led me to Daniel 3.  In that, I read the very familiar story of the three Hebrew boys facing the fiery furnace.  Although very familiar, the story wouldn’t let me pass by without further thought.  Reading down to verse 27, there it was, those words that throw the power of God in the face of every enemy we face: “the fire had no power!”

Somebody needed to be reminded of this today.  I don’t know what flames are trying to ignite against you today, God can put it out; or, He can use it to get the glory.  Either way, one can never go wrong by trusting in Him.

He will cause the enemy to be astonished before you; amazed that you are still standing.  Just like the three Hebrews boys, He will not only cause you stand in the midst of the powerless flames…

“Holy Ground”

holy ground

Stepping into the sacred.  Moses found at one cannot tread the presence of God with a heavy foot.  Lightly and gingerly, with reverence, one must approach with a surrendered heart.

God has since, through our Lord Jesus Christ, come to dwell in the recesses of the believing.  To live inside him/her that were created in His image and are now filled with His Spirit.  How then do we care for those courts where His presence resides?  Are the members being yielded to sin or are they carefully following the path of His leading; preserving the holy and persevering for the right?  Where ever He is, it is holy ground.

Let not the days go in a blur that we forget the treasure we now hold inside.  Radiating from our inner most being we, who are called by His name, should feel His unction and pulling, urging us toward the right.  He, through His love, pleads for us to not carry His sacred assembly to places of spiritual danger, toil, and sin.

Mark the value in you.  Raise it up as a standard to keep oneself in the midst of His delight; in the joy of His salvation, bearing about in you the body of our Lord.  The holy ground inside you screams to be cherished and protected.  There is sacredness in where He now dwells.

“And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.” Exodus 3:5

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Poem – “Before”

Before . . .
Before any pain . . .
Before any disappointments . . .
Before any tragedies and hurts . . .
Before any suffering . . .
Before any upsets . . .
Before any misunderstandings and curse . . .

God knew you and formed you and created you to be,
a child victorious; sanctified to lead.

What you see right now is not all there is,
God designed you with potential for such a time as this.

He created and filled you with anointing for the task.
don’t let what you see make you question and ask,
“Is this me? Do I make a difference? What’s the point of it all?”
You have it in you to succeed; to climb mountains so tall.

Believe more in His design of your life
over any proposed animosity and strife.
Believe His perfect plan for your life will win out –
therefore, shhh . . .  silence the voice of doubt.

He formed you; He knew you; He brought you to be.
Go ahead and claim it – you’re a child of victory!
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you . . .” – Jeremiah 1:5, NKJV

“My Redeemer Lives!”

When fear surrounds
And questions lurk
And doubt becomes
A prevalent force.
When troubles prevail
And night overtakes day,
And my times feel lost,
At the end of my course.

When hope slips, memories fade,
I grab hold to pull You near;
To hear what You have to say.
My Redeemer lives are the words I read,
The whispers that encourage
The strength to stay.

Sitting in the ashes and dust.
Friends, miserable comforters
In companions, no trust.
Alone and desolate,
Vacant from a touch of love,
My eyes raise in prayer
Seeking from Him that is above.

Back down on the pages
In Your Word, I read,
My Redeemer lives –
Someone somewhere is thinking about me.
A revelation to encourage,
A truth to behold,
My Redeemer lives, there I am told.

Guess what, all hope is not lost!
Though turbulent waves crash
And my life feels tossed.

Shine down, O Savior, I pray,
When my understanding fails.
Lift me from this dusty sorrow.
Let Your might, Your love, Your truth prevail
Bless my soul, O My Hope for tomorrow.
