“Heaviness Can’t Stay!”

heaviness can't stay - my pic

“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his
favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but
joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30:5

Heaviness can’t stay. As sure as the sun rises in
the morning to herald a new day, so too does my
Savior bring newness and joy to my life.

Heaviness can’t stay. It’s not welcome in the
grace of today. Today was given as a gift to
enjoy, not as a moment to lament over.

Heaviness can’t stay. For where freedom is,
there resides His light, peace, and true happiness
(John 8:36).

The transformation of everything within me
speaks that because we are present, because
we are alive and breathing, my heart will rejoice.
Adverse circumstances may try to paint a
different picture for you today, but because of
God in my life, heaviness can’t stay!

“Lean!”

LEAN - MY PIC

“Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.” John 13:23

Are you a disciple? Are you one of the beloved? Are you as he who sits in fellowship with his Lord?

Then, lean.

Are you savoring time with Him? Are you taking in the words He speaks? Are you resting in His presence?

Then, lean.

Are you struggling in the mire? Are you hanging on by a thread? Are you on the threshold of giving up?

Then, lean.

No matter what the story of our life is telling at this moment. Regardless of the path, be it good or wrought with turmoil. In all cases, and in every way, before we do anything else, we must lean.

Lean into His bosom. Lie close to His heart. Trust Him with your cares. From Him, never depart.

Our strength was never ours on our own. Everything within us was designed to lean. In success and failures, hills and valleys, lean with trust in the Savior who will never let you down.

He is your support, your confidence, and your stay. Jesus loves you.  Let Him hold you like only He can while you just lean.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

Ready?

“In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.” 2 Kings 20:1

There is something special in knowing.  Knowing brings awareness to a time or moment you did not see coming.  Knowing helps us to prepare for what lies ahead.

When the curtains draw to a close on our lives here and our days have come to an end, most of us do not get the advanced warning King Hezekiah received from God through the prophet Isaiah.  Most will not know that now is their time until it happens.

Knowing that we do not possess this absolute knowledge of specifics of time and circumstance, the Bible repeatedly tells us how to prepare for our future regardless of what does or does not happen, what we do or do not know.

Jesus, Himself, taught, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh” (Matthew 24:44), and “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh” (Matthew 25:13).

We may have many questions and not know all that we desire to know, but this truth must always be grasped, be ready.

We prepare for so many unknowns in life; this we do know, there is an eternity, and where we spend it there is based on how we prepared for it here.

Below is a new poem I have written titled Get Your House in Order to go along with this post.  I pray it is encouraging to you and shareable to all you know and love.

Ready?

Not yet.

If not now,

then when?

When is the time

to tie up loose ends?

Tomorrow is not promised.

There is no guarantee.

It is today – right now,

that you must believe.

Believe, that He came.

Believe, that He died.

Believe, that He rose.

Believe, He ascended on high.

Believe there’s a spot

in heaven for you,

if you will just accept

this life anew.

Now is the time

to give God your heart.

To make a change,

and get a brand-new start.

To shed the old life and do away

with what doesn’t work.

To get your spiritual house in order –

turn to Christ, and to Him, convert.

“To know that You are near!”

To know that You are near - my pic

“The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him,
to all that call upon him in truth.” Psalm 145:18

You are near, O God, thank You that You are
near. What comfort, what solace we find in the
truth of the fact that when we call, You are very
present in our life and circumstance.

There is no battle we face alone. There is no
burden we shoulder on our own, for You are
near. Your love for us has drawn You close.
In Your presence, we are secured. And though
many storms may rise – You are our comfort
and our stay because You are near.

“The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth
them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them
that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a
contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:17-18

“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
John 14:18

“Thank You, God, for Your presence in my life!”

thank You God for Your presence in my life - my pic (3)

“And he said, My presence shall go with thee,
and I will give thee rest.” Exodus 33:14

The promise given to Moses was sure: “My
presence shall go with thee…” Oh, what comfort
and confidence do those words speak to a life
endeavoring to move toward the Promised Land.
Oh, what peace do those words encourage the
heart traveling the wilderness towards their
final home.

As we are traveling our course in this world toward
our promise of heaven, know the course we take
and the paths we walk we do not walk alone. The
roads may seem treacherous at times, and we may
seem unsure of the journey, but trust God’s guiding
presence, for He will never fail to do all He has
promised. We may not have a pillar of cloud or one
of fire, but we do have His promise (Hebrews 13:5).
And, if He said He is there for you and with you, He is.

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy
right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11

“The Sweetest, I Know!”

the sweetest I know - my pic

Sweeter than the ripest fruit. Sweeter than the
honey from the most abundant honeycomb is
the love of our God. No wonder David penned
these words, “Oh taste and see that the Lord is
good” for unless you have partaken of this
goodness, you haven’t experienced the Divine
in all of His glory in your life.

Take Him unto yourself. Savor the blessedness
of the Savior in your life. Take all of Him and let
Him fill you with the sweet wonder of His unfailing
love. Let Him satisfy the hunger of your soul as
only He can.

I promise you, once you really taste Him in your
life, You will not want to let Him go or lose His
flavor. For the sweetness that comes from being
united in Him in holy fellowship, there is no
compare.

“I Am With You!”

I am with you - my pic

There are days when the mission will be rough.
There will be days when it seems no matter which
way you turn, you face adversity. But God still
says to go. He still calls you to step out into faith
and follow His leading. He still says, “Be not
afraid of their faces…” (Jeremiah 1:8).

God urges you on; His desire is for you to go
where He calls because when you go, you do
not go alone. “For I am with thee…” He says.
Those blessed words God has repeatedly
promised in His Word. Today, wherever you are
called, and wherever your feet may travel,
trust in the One who says, “I will never leave
thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5).

“And they shall fight against thee; but they shall
not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith
the LORD, to deliver thee.” Jeremiah 1:19

“Praying for the today’s that we face”

praying for the today's we face - unsplash pic

Father God, we know there’s a coming day when every tear that falls from our eyes shall be wiped away, a day when the trying circumstances we face here shall all be over, and we are looking forward to that day and rejoicing in the promise for it. We, also, are praying for the today’s that we face. We are praying for healing in the many circumstances of life: health, finances, relationships, souls restored, national conflicts to experience peace in You and through You. We are praying for people to be released and made whole from anything that comes against Your best for their life. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray, AMEN!

Within

Within - pagemodo pic

Within, that’s where she
matters the most.
It’s not the hair
with a stylish boast.

It’s not the brows
arched to shape.
It’s not the makeup
upon her face.

She is who she is,
the woman within.
The woman found there
is where true beauty begins.

There in the places,
hidden from the sight of man,
there within, she is fitted
for God’s plan.

In the crevice of her being
there is a light that shines there
that has nothing to do
with outward beauty or hair.

Within, she is valued.
Within, she is gold.
Within, she holds treasures
of stories untold.

She is fashioned with purpose.
She is made with love.
She is uniquely created
by the Father above.

Not to be an image
of anyone else.
God designed her perfectly
to bring joy to Himself.

He knows her person
from the inside out.
The person within
is what her story’s about.

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:13-17

“Our God is in the Heavens!”

our God is in the heavens - pagemodo pic

There is futility found in the heart of a person who seeks help and solace in any other place than our true God, who resides in the heavens (Psalm 115:3).

God is present for all if all would tear their eyes away from the worthless and look to He who is worthy.

Stop running after the idols of silver and gold. Stop seeking the works of man’s hands (Psalm 115:4) and their ideologies, and start seeking the Creator who sits high above it all. Seek Him who is “high above the nations, and his glory above the heavens” (Psalm 113:4), for our true God – the true God is there in the heavens.

The earth can only offer you earthly things and earthly solutions. Things of this natural world that capture the imagination are just that – imaginary help.

But, our God is in the heavens, and He is real, and His help is real:

“Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.

The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.

But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.” (Psalm 115:11-18)

If real help is what you are seeking for your life, turn your attention away from the false advertisements of this world, then turn your face, your heart, and your soul toward the true God who is in the heavens. There, you will find help for all you need in this life and the life to come.

“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:9-13)
