The Real Gift of Christmas Was Born!

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11

He is not found on display in a decorated window.

Nor will He be purchased from off the store shelf.

No, the only purchasing to be done is

when He came to purchase you for Himself (Titus 2:14).

For you, the Savior has come.

For you, the prophecy had been fulfilled.

For you, heaven’s glory was housed in a manger.

For you, He was born by God’s overshadowing will.

The greatest Christmas gift one has ever,

or will ever receive,

is the truest reason for Christmas itself

found in Christ our Lord, the newborn King.

If it were not for us, He would not have come.

If it were not for us, there would be no need to be born.

But born He was, God in the flesh (Matthew 1:23; 1 Timothy 3:16)

purposed to save us from sin and eternal death.

December 25th is waited for with hope throughout the year of giving and receiving gifts. But on that holy night, at the announcement of the Lord’s birth by the angel, the shepherds working the sheep in the field knew the real gift of Christmas had been waited upon for much longer.

“For unto you.” Let the beauty of those words speak to your heart. The gift of Jesus was given for you, for us, for me.

God’s gift, wrapped in swaddling clothes at His birth (Luke 2:12), and linen at His burial (John 19:40), was personally wrapped and given for failing humanity.

May we ponder, as Mary did that night, the real gift of Christmas a little more closely this year. I pray that you would feel the Father’s love as He presents this Gift to you for unwrapping. I pray you would know the heart of the Father more fully as you receive His “indescribable gift” (2 Corinthians 9:15) for yourself.

Christ was given, by the hand of God, for all who were, and for all who were to come: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:17).

For this Christmas, and all to come, no Christmas gift could be or should be cherished more, than this gift of God’s great love (John 3:16).

At the trial of His crucifixion, Jesus spoke these words:

To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” John 18:37

The gift was born for you.

Thank You, Father God, for the personal gift of Jesus Christ into my life. Neither words nor time would be enough to express my deepest gratitude for the Savior. Your Gift has intervened in my life and saved me, helped me, protected me, and blessed me far more than I deserve. My thank You seems inadequate for this season, but humbly thank You, I do, and I praise You for the real Gift of Christmas in my life.

Within - pagemodo pic

Within, that’s where she
matters the most.
It’s not the hair
with a stylish boast.

It’s not the brows
arched to shape.
It’s not the makeup
upon her face.

She is who she is,
the woman within.
The woman found there
is where true beauty begins.

There in the places,
hidden from the sight of man,
there within, she is fitted
for God’s plan.

In the crevice of her being
there is a light that shines there
that has nothing to do
with outward beauty or hair.

Within, she is valued.
Within, she is gold.
Within, she holds treasures
of stories untold.

She is fashioned with purpose.
She is made with love.
She is uniquely created
by the Father above.

Not to be an image
of anyone else.
God designed her perfectly
to bring joy to Himself.

He knows her person
from the inside out.
The person within
is what her story’s about.

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:13-17

“FRAGILE!”

Handle with care I wish I could post,
a stick it note to remind of what matters the most.

Distractions, directions unprofitable and robbing;
relentless in their unfocused pulling and prodding.

But my days are few upon this earth,
to make an impact of valued worth.

The reins have to be taken back;
no longer the less valuable plans to detract.

Focus, you only have one life to live.
Frail, is this only life to give.

Here today, and gone tomorrow;
let me cherish each one without resentment and sorrow.

Life is fragile and can break like a dam.
So, Lord teach me to measure my days, that I may know how frail I am.

To gain the worth of each day given.
This time on earth; this limited edition.

Invest in the works, the love and matters of the soul.
To fulfill His glory is our heavenly goal.

“LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am,” (Psalms 39:4).

Father God, You are everything I need to sail through the storms of this life!

FATHER GOD, YOU ARE MY
ANCHOR, WHEN THE WAVES
ARE TOSSED AND THE WIND
BLOWS.

YOU ARE THE ONE WHO
STEADIES ME THROUGH ALL
OF LIFE’S HIGHS AND LIFE’S
LOWS.

YOU ARE THE ONE WHO
HOLDS ME THROUGH THE
BLUSTERY GALES.

IT IS IN YOU I PUT MY TRUST,
AND IN MY LIFE, WITH YOU,
I SAIL.

“Lead Me.”

Lead me to the cross where
I can lay my burden down.
Lead me to Him who will
never let me drown.

Lead me to the Rock
that is higher than I.
Lead me to the One who
bottles the tears I cry.

Lead me to Him who knows
all my cares and sorrow.
Who holds my future and
all of my tomorrows.

There, I find solace in
the grip of His embrace.
So, lead me where I can rest
from this exhausting race.

He’s my source and my shield;
my covenant and mercy.
Lead me to God, whom I love
to the bursting.

When life is overwhelming and
I don’t know what to do,
Lead me to Your arms, O Lord.
Lead me to You.

“From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:2

Father God, we need You.  We cannot find the strength or wisdom on our own to properly care for the things and adversities we face.  But this we do know, You are our Rock.  You are the peace we find in the midst of all that overwhelms us.  Take us by the hand and lead us to You – our safe sanctuary, our hiding place, from all these storms that blow our way.  In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!

God Knows Your Importance | Word For Life Says

God knows your importance even if others don’t.
God knows your importance if you, yourself won’t.
God values you completely, through and through.
In His sight, you are treasured for the who that is you.

All of creation, He spoke, each part was good.
But, when He looked at you, He saw everything that could…
Everything that could dream…
Everything that could love…
Everything that could hope to the end.
He saw everything that could, with potential from within.

An original creation, the beauty of His eye.
Someone who has His heart, that He was willing to die.
Your value can’t be measured by man’s purpose or plan.
Your value stands only by what says the great, “I AM!”

And, He says you are gifted and loved, cherished and held.
Please, know it’s your importance that makes His heart swell.
Swell, because He can see more than anyone can.
Plant your faith, YOU ARE IMPORTANT, in His heavenly plan.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11

“Heavy hearts rest tonight…”

Heavy hearts rest tonight
in the Father who is above.
Let your cares and sorrow
drown in His unfailing love.

Lay down your head, close your eyes,
cast away fear and doubt.
He will give His angels charge of you,
to keep you round about.

He never sleeps, He never slumbers;
our protector through the night.
May His blessings cover you richly
to the breaking of morning light. ~ ©WordForLifeSays.com

“It Should Be Me!”

It should be me there on that tree
to perish for all eternity.
Bearing the burdens of all my wrongs,
crying and wailing the sinner’s song.

It should be me who suffered on that night
bearing the brunt of the whipper’s stripes.
But when He looked down through the ages,
passing by the kings, wise men, and sages,
He saw something special in me
that compelled Him to still mount that tree.

It should be me who readily paid the cost
because I was the one that was truly lost.
But Jesus didn’t see it that way,
which is why on this earth He could not stay.
Doing all at the Father’s holy will,
mounting higher and higher on Calvary’s hill.
He was lifted up that we might be free,
to draw men to Himself, that was the key.

It should be me is what we need to say,
because we are the sheep that have gone astray.
Doing everything in our own stubborn way,
far from the King’s heavenly highway.
But Jesus stepped in looking down from the cross,
viewing with battered eyes all that were lost.
He and His Father they did agree,
for the world to be saved, it should be Me!

Thank you, Jesus, for stepping in for me!

John 3:17  “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

John 10:17-18 “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.”

Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”

John 6:38 “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”

“Relying On God”

Not by my own strength,
it’s failing, it’s fleeting.
Relying on myself,
my life takes a beating.

It’s against the wind I fight,
expending all my fleshly might.
It’s only by His Spirit I can win,
supplied by God, the power within.

Many are searching
for the prosperous way,
forcing themselves
with striving each day.

The plans of man
are but weak and futile.
Relying on God will carry you
to the very last mile.

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of Hosts,” Zechariah 4:6

“Whatever!”

Whatever is a word
used with disregard;
it comes as an answer
when life seems hard.

Whatever is a comfort
I take to heart;
a word I treasure
when life falls apart.

 Whatever covers
all my pain and sorrow.
Whatever sows seeds
of hope for tomorrow.

Whatever, no matter
what the burden is,
I cast them to Him,
and now they are His.

I don’t have to worry,
I don’t have to fear;
shouldered upon His love,
whatever the frets, they disappear.

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you,” 1 Peter 5:7
