There is a future, a time to come that will reach beyond all we see today. Our hope is for that day. We live this Christian pilgrimage for that time. Our promises were never to be completely fulfilled or satisfied in our natural life. But in eternity, more than we could ever conceive with our human intellect will be ours as we lay down the burdens of these days forever and step into glory the natural man cannot fully comprehend. Watch for that day. Be ready for that day.

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:42

“Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.” Mark 13:33

“Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

“And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.” Luke 12:37-40

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4

“Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” Isaiah 51:11

Wisdom’s Ways | Words to Live By

They say 10,000 steps a day helps to promote a healthier you. How healthier would our inner man be if our daily steps, our daily living, were marked by wisdom’s ways?

“My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦’𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤; 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐮𝐧, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞.” Proverbs 4:10-12, NLT

Inwardly Renewed! | Words to Live By

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, NIV

Surrender

When you try to control everything, everything is only controlled by your limited capacity. But when you loosen your grip, and place it in God’s hands, He can work something wonderful, beyond your wildest dreams.

Sounds nice, you might say, but it’s easier said than done.

I think we’ve all been there at one time or another, a time when what we know and read in the promises of Scripture is asked to come alive in our hearts and actions. It’s a call to let go. Surrender. Give up, in the very best way, of trying to figure everything out and pretending we have all the answers, and freefall into the arms of our loving God who is omniscient, who is all-powerful.

It is totally trusting, not in our own abilities, but in His who has never failed to catch the one committed to trusting Him.

It may challenge you. It may stretch you. It may call for courage that you are not used to exhibiting, nevertheless, let go, and trust.

Relinquish control, and give room for God to work.

Father God, I am not perfect in wisdom and understanding, but You are. I lay it all at Your feet and trust Your guiding hand in holy surrender. I pray for Your help through it all. ”Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven,” (Matthew 6:10). Amen.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” ~ Proverbs 3:5-6

“Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” ~ Psalm 119:133

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” ~ Philippians 4:6

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” ~ 1 Peter 5:7

Enough to Satisfy! | Words to Live By

The cross, and what Jesus did on the cross, is enough to satisfy and uphold the demands of God’s righteousness against the sin and sinners of today, yesterday, and forevermore.  Nothing else is needed.  It has already been proven that nothing else will do:

“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:12-14

At the time of His death, all sin, past, present, and future, were placed upon our Savior as He hung on that cross.  It’s what one does with the revelation of the cross for their own life that makes all the difference.

Take Comfort, O Soul

This is a comfort to the soul who cannot find comfort anywhere else. Is this not a blessed place to be? For if one found comfort among the false and depraved, would they not also think as other men? Take comfort, O soul, in your God who is always present. The head of all principality and power still bears the crown obtained for the salvation and deliverance of mankind. He that holds that holy scepter and Himself is the Scepter that rises out of Israel (Num. 24:17), remains in control and is worthy of your trust and honor.

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10

Morning Verses: Psalm 142:1-3

God wants to hear our prayers. He invites us to pour our cares and troubles out to Him. Even when life seems overwhelming to us, it’s never overwhelming to God. He is just one prayer away!

“I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication.

I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.” Psalm 142:1-3
