“Your Tears Matter to God”

“For the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.” Psalm 6:8

Tears have always gotten God’s attention.  Our God is a compassionate God.  He cares about the struggles we go through in life.  When we mourn, He mourns. When we hurt, He hurts.  When we are upset, He is upset. “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities,” Hebrews 4:15.  In other words, He knows how we feel!

“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy,” Psalm 126:5.  It might not feel like it now, but soon the suffering will be over, the pain will dull, and “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away,” Revelation 21:4.  It is only permitted to stay around for a little while. “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning,” Psalm 30:5.

Your tears and the voice they give to your plight have gone up before your heavenly Father.  He lovingly has every one recorded that moistens your eyes and falls from your heart of despair. “Put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?” Psalm 56:8.

Take confidence today that your sorrow is not dismissed by God.  As with David, He is paying attention to the “voice of your weeping.”  “Your Tears Matter to God!”

“There’s No Place like Home!”

There is an old song that says:

“Caught up to meet him

Joy and happiness will be mine.

Caught up to meet him in the air.

Caught up to meet him

Meet in glory tell the story,

caught up to meet him in the air.

someday, some day,

I’m going where jesus is

I’ll be caught up to meet him in the air” (Adoration Medley – Allgospellyrics.com)

One day we are going to experience a joy like no other when we arrive HOME.  And, you know that I am not referencing any earthly dwelling we can find down here.  Rather, a place we can only imagine from the writing of the revelator and prophets who have peered through, looking beyond this fleshly realm and have viewed the divine.  A place, I think, words will never be able to do it proper justice.  A place so glorious in majesty and appearance the only thing we can do is yearn in the spirit for its streets until we arrive there.

This home is where “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away,” Revelation 21:4.

No matter what you have to face today!  No matter the place you are in right now!  No matter the discouragement, heartache and upsets through this present sufferings; one moment in heaven is going to pay for it all.  One moment at our real home will cancel it all out.  “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him,” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

There’s no place like this home.  To get into all the specifics of what has been revealed in His Word would take more time than I have here at this moment.  But, God has something great in store for us.  Hold on.  One day I hope I will meet you at home.

“There’s No Place like Home!”

My Project 261-001

Recently, I took a trip to another state.  To me the trip was somewhat stressful and emotionally draining.  I had one focus the majority of the time there: home.  I wanted to go home big time.

When it was time to repack our things and head in the direction of home my heart leapt with excitement.  My inner man was doing a two-step with joy.  I was going where I wanted to be.  I was going home.

Spending the hours driving didn’t matter to me.  My hips wracked with pain due to the long car ride, but it didn’t faze me.   When we arrived at our local beltway, about a half an hour from home and I spied local places and landmarks, though stuck in rush hour traffic, I was happy.

There is a song that says:

“Caught up to meet him

Joy and happiness will be mine.

Caught up to meet him in the air.

Caught up to meet him

Meet in glory tell the story,

caught up to meet him in the air.

“For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping,” Psalm 6:8, NKJV

“Tears are an eloquent argument with God. Spurgeon called them ‘liquid prayers.’ They need no interpreter, and carry enormous weight at the throne of grace. David had sudden peace in his soul, and inner conviction that God had heard him. The rainbow shone upon the downpouring tears.” (The John Phillips Commentary Series: Exploring Psalms Volume One, p. 54, Kregel Publications 1988)

Your “liquid prayers” have gone up before your heavenly Father.  He lovingly has every one recorded that moistens your eyes and falls from your heart of despair. “Put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?” Psalm 56:8.

Take confidence today that your sorrow is not dismissed by God.  As with David, He is paying attention to the “voice of your weeping.”  “Your Tears Matter to God!”  Let your “liquid prayers” roll down before Him.
