“PROMISE IN A POP OF COLOR!”

“I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth,” Genesis 9:13

I woke up this morning feeling, well . . . .  blah!!!  Headache, no energy, not feeling really with it.  This week has been something else and I guess it’s taking a toll on my body.

As I was looking for something to wear, I reached into my closet and pulled out a white shirt (black and white shirts are a standby for me because they usually don’t have to be ironed 🙂 – telling on myself, I know).  But, even though it didn’t need to be ironed, I put it back declaring, in my dreariness, that I need a pop of color.

As I was going through the drudgery of ironing my pop of color I wondered if that’s why God made His covenant to Noah and all the earth in the form of a rainbow.  After the rains and the storms of life, after the hardships and turmoils, after being tossed about to and fro, maybe we all need that “PROMISE IN A POP OF COLOR!”

We all need that beautiful colorful, covenant to gaze upon to let us know that everything is going to be alright.

Today, we are at the end of the week.  And, if your week has been like mine I send out to you this “PROMISE IN A POP OF COLOR!”  God is letting us know, EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT!

God bless you this day!!!

Awww, you are so welcomed 🙂 We all get like that sometimes but God is “able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think.” Thank God for promises – it really does help in dealing with our day to day stuff. Thank you for visiting 🙂

I was thinking today about the disciples and their despair when Jesus told them He was leaving. They could not wrap their minds around it. Jesus was patient. with them and answered all of their questions. They wondered how they would ever get to this place where He was going, Thomas said he didn’t know the way. Jesus replies with something that encourages my heart all the time He says, “I am the Way!”

I know when I feel ‘blah’ I remind myself of Jesus Christ as my treasure, not just as the giver of gifts—as the Way to the Father. I have nothing to complain about because God has made His promise. — just like the rainbow you reference here.

**Side-note– there was a picture taken when our church was burned down by an arsonist…it was a rainbow as the fire fighters fought the fire. If you go to http://www.ccbac.org, it is one of the pictures on there.

Wow! Derek God just spoke a word to me with your comment! I am a blogger in need of a better camera… because I dropped and broke mine. 😦 Anyway, I was just messaging a photographer friend of mine who is looking for a camera for me. I was telling her about how I have no idea what I’m looking for, or at, but I just know I need a better camera so that I can take good pictures for the blog and my books. I told her I had no idea how I was going to be able to afford the type of camera that I really should have and ended the message with “I can only pray”.
The very next thing I did was open up my email to find your beautiful comment about Thomas voicing his concern on how they would be able to get to where Jesus would be. And His reply, “I am the way”.
In Matthew 6:31-33 Jesus tells us, His disciples today, “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
God knows I need a better camera, He’s the one telling me I need a better camera, a professional camera for a professional photographer right? So why be anxious over how to get it? He has called me to this profession, He has called me to take myself seriously in this blogging/writing/author business, so why would He not also provide the means necessary to do what He has called me to do. How is it the saying goes? He doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called!
Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you today Derek, how God used you to put my heart at ease and know that HE is my God who WILL provide for my very expensive needs. 🙂
      Thank you! 🙂
P.S. That rainbow picture is BREATHTAKING!!!

Actually – umm, nooooo 🙂 !!! It honestly was just a thought I had while ironing. I felt urgency to write it and publish it before hurrying ( and I do mean hurrying) out the door to drop the little one off to school and go grocery shopping. GOD IS SO AWESOME!!!! THANK YOU FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

What I find even more amazing, for me anyway, is that Beth Moore’s blog this week was on clothes too!!! And then, just now I was looking up a verse on Biblegateway and their verse for the day today is Colossians 3:12 NLT, “Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must *clothe* yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”
            How cool is that???
Isn’t it just amazing how the Holy Spirit works, how He can take something that can be so superficial as clothes and turn it into something so amazing!
I’ve just recently turned a major corner in my ministry, going from sitting behind my computer all day writing, to standing on stages and speaking. Can’t really wear yoga pants and tank tops there! So clothes have been a constant theme for me lately! And of course, I’ve been taking it literally when He then turns everything spiritual – go figure right? 🙂
Now, you don’t have to answer this if you don’t want to, but I only just started following your blog. How old is your little one??? I have two (10 &5), there are pictures on my blog. It’s always nice to find another mom blogger!

Thank you for that. I really didn’t anticipate how my comment might encourage someone. It was just, as has been said here, on my mind at the moment. I wrote a post this week about something similar also using 2 Peter 1. The reference was to God giving us all we need and yet we still make excuses about how we can’t do it. Thankfully we have a God who is gracious.

Wow! Was this post for me today or what!?! I felt the same this morning too, headache and all! And then I picked out my hot pink tank top to wear, yay!
Coincidentally, have you ever been to a walk to Emmaus? There is a sing they sing, DeColores, that is all about the different colors of God’s love. It’s quite wonderful. I think I wrote about it once on my blog….I think… Have a blessed day full of the colors of God’s love my new friend!
