“My Redeemer Lives!”

When fear surrounds
and questions lurk
and doubt becomes
a prevalent force.
When troubles prevail
and night overtakes the day,
and times feel lost,
at the end of the course.

When hope slips, memories fade,
I grab hold to pull You near;
to hear what You have to say.
My Redeemer lives are the words I read,
the whispers that encourage –
the strength to stay.

Sitting in the ashes and dust.
Friends, miserable comforters
and in companions, no trust.
Alone and desolate,
vacant from a touch of love,
my eyes raise in prayer
seeking from Him that is above.

Back down on the pages
in Your Word, I read,
my Redeemer lives –
someone somewhere is thinking about me.
A revelation to encourage,
a truth to behold,
my Redeemer lives, there I am told.

Guess what, all hope is not lost!
though turbulent waves crash
and life feels tossed.

Shine down, O Savior, I pray,
and lift me from this dusty sorrow.
Let Your might, Your love, Your truth prevail
and bless my soul, O My Hope for tomorrow.

Dear Friends, even if things don’t look like their turning in your favor.  Even if today doesn’t look better than yesterday. God, your Redeemer is alive and in charge. No matter what it looks like right now, believe HIM through it all! Just ask Job.  Through it all, he declared, “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth,” (Job 19:25).

“God is for the Unloved!”

People can live without a lot of things in this world but love is not one of them.  True love holds you in good times and bad.  Love is there for you when the storms of chaotic mess are ravaging your life.  Love shelters when you feel as though your house is being blown in by the big bad wolf.

Love.

The strongest of all of God’s attributes is love.  In fact, the Bible tells us, “God is love,” (1 John 4:8).  With that in mind, it is no wonder He is a defender of the unloved.  God knows the inner man needs the nourishment of love to help him through the struggles of this life.  He goes to bat for them filling the gap where man seems to lack.

In Genesis 29:31 we see someone who is struggling with feelings of being unloved.  It seems no matter what she does she can’t get a break or find favor with those whom she is seeking it from.  Her attempts have gone unrewarded.  Her heart lays empty from unfulfilled desire.  “Oh, to be truly loved,” must have been her silent, lamenting plea that soaked her pillow with tears as she lay her head down at night.

Man ignored her and left her feeling hated.  In such a condition, where would her life end up if not for the intervention of the Lord?

But, God stepped in.

He pays attention to those silent pleas.  God sees the heart that is rent from the lack of human compassion and kindness.  God sees the emptiness and He stands up to fight for her cause.  “And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated (other versions use the word “unloved”), he opened her womb…,” (Genesis 29:31).

This really gives us a clear view of how much God wants us to be loved.  It shows that no matter what others may or may not be doing to you or for you, God is for the unloved and the hated.  God doesn’t like to see people in a hurt condition, and if no one else will alleviate the silent suffering of this woman, then He would.

Powerful!

God’s love is no joke and how He is concerned about people who are lacking love in their lives is no joke.  God is for them.  God is for you.  Others may not always see the hurt that goes on inside, but God does.  People will not always pay attention to your tears, but God has every one of them recorded.  The psalmist said, “Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?” (Psalm 56:8).

God knows it all.  Your hurts, your pain, your silent sufferings have not escaped His eyes of compassion.  If you are feeling unloved, turn to God today.  Unload every burdensome feeling on Him: “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you,” (1 Peter 5:7).

God loves you and He wants you to feel loved.  He stepped in for Leah and satisfied her need for love and He can do the same for you too.  Let Him be your ultimate source of love.  His love is like no other.

“Quitting is not an option!”

On your marks.  Get set.  Go!  Once you have accepted Jesus Christ into your life as your personal Savior you have officially entered the Christian race.  The prize is before you and the contest is around you and the only way to make it to the finish line is by focusing on He who paved the way ahead of you.  The struggle may seem hard at times but Jesus promised, “He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved,” (Matthew 24:13).

Quitting is not an option and endurance is the key.  We cannot give up now.  He has brought us too far.  We must continue in our holy pursuit of Him.  May these verses help you to reach the finish line where our only prize is found in Christ.

Here is some encouraging words to help you in your pursuit.  Everyone needs extra strength sometimes.  Everyone needs a faith boost sometimes.

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” 1 Corinthians 9:24

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9

“Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

“I am not alone!”

Father God, I don’t know what this day or week is going to look like, but I do know that You are going before me through it all. In the steps I take, I am not alone. You have not left me, nor forsaken me according to Your holy Word. Help me to be productive in all that You have given me to do and rest in the assurance that You are near. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!

“Be Fruitful”

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth
his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth
shall prosper,” Psalm 1:3, KJV

I believe right there the trees stop and laugh at us. Whether it is planted in the inner city or deep in the countryside, as long as it has soil, water and sunshine it will grow. The tree doesn’t look for excuses for why it can’t do what it was purposed to do. It just does it. It grows and bears fruit.

We have to learn to be abundant where we are planted. Take inventory of where you are right now. What is there that can be done by you? What gap can you fill? What soul can you reach out to? What aspect of ministry can you lend your talents to? Don’t always look at the big stuff; there are little tidbits of things that can be done by each of us. There are small ways to minister (serve) that God can put to good use to cause increase in His kingdom.

Psalm 1:1-2 speaks of the choice of the individual to do right. “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night,” (KJV). Now it’s time to walk in the fruitfulness of vs.3, “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper,” (KJV).

So, if you have already made the same choice and are now planted, it’s time to let some fruit grow. Nobody will know anything about you unless you start growing fruit; until you start producing something. An apple tree is not an apple tree if it does not produce apples. Matthew 12:33 declares, “. . . for the tree is known by his fruit,” (KJV).

Today, I urge you to make a proclamation to yourself and say, “Self, today, right where I am planted, I will produce!” Do you not know that God will honor that? The Word of God emphatically says, “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed,” (Matthew 17:20, KJV). God doesn’t need you to try to grab hold of the biggest thing in ministry there is. But, if your heart is sincere and your faith is genuine, He will honor the fruitfulness of every little step you take.

Don’t let intimidation stop you from being effective for the Kingdom of God. If all I have is a small measure to work with then, I’m going to work that small measure until I see the increase. So, I declare that, “Today, right where I am planted, I will be fruitful!
